Loudon Tennessee is a city in and the county seat of Loudon County, Tennessee, United States. Its population was 6,001 at the 2020 census.

It is included in the Knoxville, Tennessee Metropolitan Statistical Area. The city is located in East Tennessee, southwest of Knoxville, on the Tennessee River.

Fort Loudoun, the colonial era fort for which the city was named, is located several miles to the south in Monroe County.

History

Loudon was settled in the 1790s and incorporated in 1850. It was named for Fort Loudoun, the colonial era British fort.

Blair’s Ferry Storehouse

Built in 1834, this building is the last remaining structure from Loudon’s original waterfront.

The Blair’s Ferry Storehouse is a historic brick structure in the U.S. city of Loudon, Tennessee.

Originally built as a storehouse for the burgeoning riverboat trade in the community of Blair’s Ferry in the 1830s, the structure was eventually renovated and used for a variety of functions throughout the 19th and 20th centuries.

The building is one of the region’s earliest surviving examples of a structure designed specifically as a warehouse. In 1977, the building was placed on the National Register of Historic Places.
